Social risk is a new risk in conventional risk taxonomies. It has become recognised as a leading risk for companies across industries, supported by the growing use and influence of social media, providing open platforms for people to come together, often rapidly, to advocate for, debate  and enforce social views. Social groups can often establish new social norms that expose companies who’s values, products or behaviours appear to contest these new norms.
